Why backorder an expired .NET.MA domain?

.NET.MA is a specialized Moroccan domain. ANRT assigns it to internet service providers, so it can give an eligible network operator or connectivity business a precise local identity.

The namespace is narrower than general-purpose .MA or commercial .CO.MA. That makes category fit more important than the wording alone. The acquisition attempt is carried out through the appropriate registrar or registry channel.

.NET.MA is not a generic technology suffix

The official Registre.ma extension policy states that .NET.MA is for internet service providers. A software company, web agency or unrelated technology project should not assume it qualifies merely because the name contains “net”.

  • Intended holder: an internet access or internet service provider whose use matches the registry category.
  • Local identity: the suffix ties the service to Morocco rather than to the global .NET namespace.
  • Category review: the registrar or registry can request information needed to validate the application.

For a broader commercial use, see .co.ma. Organizations and associations can use .org.ma.

Registration conditions

All .MA registrations fall under ANRT's naming rules. The administrative contact must be a natural person established in Morocco, and the registration data must remain complete and accurate. The holder is also responsible for the domain's use and for avoiding infringement of third-party rights.

Confirm category eligibility, the Moroccan administrative contact and any required supporting material before ordering. Our technical catch attempt cannot make an ineligible application acceptable to the registry.

How a .NET.MA name becomes available

An expired name is not automatically open for registration. Registre.ma's status definitions include active, frozen, blocked, expired, terminated and deleted. Only a deleted name has been removed from the zone and WHOIS and returned to availability.

  • The current holder may resolve expiry before deletion.
  • Frozen and blocked states can limit operation while the registration remains in place.
  • Availability and successful acquisition remain subject to registry rules and competing demand.

No outcome is guaranteed, and the registry retains final control over eligibility and release. All catches remain best effort.

Pricing and auctions

A .NET.MA backorder starts at €50. A successful single-customer catch remains €50 before applicable taxes or registry-specific charges. If several Backorders Domains customers request the same domain, a 7-day proxy bid auction selects the winner.

Due diligence for expired network domains

Check the former site's use, DNS history, email reputation, backlinks and possible trademark conflicts. Network-related domains can have a long technical footprint. A clean history matters as much as a good label, particularly if the name previously handled mail or customer infrastructure.
